The Board of Governors sets policy for all of the colleges in the California Community Colleges system and administers a budget of over $8 billion. The California Community Colleges is the largest higher educational system in the nation comprised of 72 districts and 109 colleges with more than 2.5 million students per year. The California Community Colleges have approximately 80,000 employees including approximately 16, 000 full-time faculty and 7,000 administrators.

Bobby is also President and Chief Executive Officer of the Orange County Black Chamber of Commerce. The mission of the Chamber is to advocate and promote Black business and economic development within the public and private sectors, resulting in a sound economic base that supports the survival and self-determination of the African-American community. Consistent with the mission of the Chamber are its goals to

(i) create access to capital; (ii) develop procurement opportunities; (iii) serve as a support vehicle for members by disseminating relevant information; and (iv)
support and contribute to the general welfare and progress of the Black community through economic development.
