President Everett Glenn joined Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, NFL Hall-of-Fame
quarterbacks Warren Moon and Steve Young, Best Damn Sports Show's
John Salley, Amen's Clifton Davis and a host of NFL executives,
players, celebrities, and personalities at Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, AZ.
The
weekend's events included parties hosted by Hugh Hefner, Tank, Floyd Mayweather,
Marvel Smith, Leigh Steinberg, the NFLPA, and the 17th annual NFL EXPERIENCE
BUILT BY THE HOME DEPOT adjacent to UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM. The NFL Experience
is the most exciting continuous event surrounding Super Bowl XLII -- pro football's
interactive theme park offering participatory games, displays, entertainment attractions,
kids' clinics, free autograph sessions and the largest football card show ever.
The highlight of the weekend was the 10th Annual
Gridiron Charity Basketball game. Hosted by Juli Wyatt and Jam Sports &
Entertainment, the game is the first and only celebrity NFL-sanctioned celebrity
basketball game to be held annually at the Super Bowl making Jam Sports &
Entertainment one of the first minority-owned businesses to form a strategic alliance
with the NFL. The game, which was played before a packed house at the Wells Fargo
Arena on the campus of Arizona State University, brought together stars of radio,
television and the music industry including ESP's own Robert Gustavis,
2008 draft prospect from Arizona State University, NFL stars Terrell
Owens, Darnell Dockett, Sean Springs, Marlon Jackson, Joey Porter, Ovie Mughelli,
former star Andre Hastings, Street Ball all-stars Andre "Silk"
Poole, Brian "X-Rated" Miller, Sante "757" Gayle, Myron "Airborne"
Howe and David "Dr. Dunkenstein" Bailey, Grammy-nominated R&B sensation
Tank, and 5-time Grammy-award winner Ne Yo, who thrilled the packed
house with a halftime show from the pages of James Brown, Michael Jackson and
Usher.
