The
evening culminated with the commitment to support the Greater Cleveland
CARES Mentoring Movement, co-founded by Ilinda Reese. CARES Circles
are networks of individuals in each area who work together to recruit
caring, committed adult to mentor our vulnerable young. The goal
is to connect every at-risk youngster with a caring adult through
existing youth-service organizations, using the proven-effective
one-to-one or group-mentoring models. Every study available shows
that mentoring works miracles and can give even our most challenged
young person the vision and encouragement they need to heal and
build happy, productive, self-sustaining lives.
