Honorees include the City of Anaheim for its 150th anniversary and California State University, Fullerton, which is currently celebrating its 50th year. The 2007 Michael R. Jones Business Impact Award was presented to Michael Adams of Orange County Printing Consultants. The 2007 Business Person of the Year award was presented to Cedric Ferrell, CEO/President of the Entrepreneur’s Source.

The mission of the Chamber is to advocate and promote Black business and economic development within the public and private sectors, resulting in a sound economic base that supports the survival and self-determination of the African-American community.

The mission statement provides the basis for establishing four goals for all Black chamber activities and programs:
To create access to capital; and procurement opportunities; to serve as a support vehicle for members by disseminating relevant information; to strengthen the overall organization; and to support and contribute to the general welfare and progress of the Black community through economic development.

“The mission and vision of the Orange County Black Chamber, to advocate and promote business and economic development within public and private sectors, resulting in a sound economic base that supports the survival and self-determination of the African-American community, are consistent with the mission and vision of ESP to act as a catalyst to raise the consciousness of professional athletes of color and increase the participation by individuals and firms of color in the $350 billion per year sports business industry,” says Glenn.
